On the campus of Howard University, January 13, 1913, 22
young women came together and founded Delta Sigma Theta Sorority,
Inc. These young, intellectual, scholarly women used their
collective strength to promote academic excellence and service
to the community. DST is a non-profit organization with 870
chapters located in the United States, Virgin Islands, Japan,
etc.
