Husain, a professor of
international relations and
comparative politics, is a recognized
authority in his field. He is the
author of two books, “Global
Studies: Islam and the Muslim
World,” published in 2005, and
“Global Islamic Politics,” the first
and second editions of which were
published in 1994 and 2002,
respectively. Husain has published
dozens of scholarly journal articles
and peer-reviewed book chapters. He
has also presented at least 51 papers
at professional regional and national
conferences.
In addition to his scholarship,
Husain has been praised and
honored for his teaching and service.
He has taught 32 different courses,
contributing significantly to the

the international studies program at

In recognition of Husain’s many
years of dedication through teaching,
leading, and supporting the
international student community at
USA, he has thrice received the
Distinguished Service Award
presented by the Council of
International Student Organizations
(1995, 2003, and 2006).
