Kappa Delta is unique among the other sororities, which make up the National Panhellenic Conference because we are the only sorority to support four national philanthropies. Those philanthropies are Prevent Child Abuse America, The American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons Research Awards, Girl Scouts of the USA, and the Children’s Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.

The University of South Alabama’s Kappa Delta holds philanthropic events throughout the year to support these organizations. In the fall, we put on our annual Shamrock, it consists of a 5K run, a pancake dinner, and a bingo tournament. We raised over $12,000 last year that went directly to our national and local philanthropies. Locally, Kappa Delta has a strong relationship with the Penelope House for battered women and the Ronald Mcdonald house. We are also very involved with the local Girl Scout troops, we host a badge day at our house with fun events and even annual sleepovers at the Kappa Delta house.

Service is very important to Kappa Delta. The Kappa Delta ladies can be seen everywhere on campus and in our community giving back. We participate in other sorority and fraternity philanthropies, from dancing in Pi Kappa Alpha’s PikeFest and Sigma Chi’s Derby to taking first place in Alpha Omicron Pie’s Softball tournament, first place in Pi Kappa Phi’s War of the Roses and also first place in Kappa Alpha’s parade, Kappa Delta’s make their presence known.
