the Ministry of Education in Japan.
Louisiana Karate Association
LKA is the oldest traditional Karate organization in the south and is the headquarters of the JKA/AF.
It was established in 1965 by Takayuki Mikami, 8th degree black belt.
Mr. Mikami is the Chief Instructor and founder.
Japan Karate Association/American Federation
The JKA/AF was founded in 2008 by JKA Master Takayuki Mikami. It is an affiliated member of the JKA World Federation in
Tokyo, Japan, which, along with the JKA, is the only independent karate entity legally and officially recognized by the
Japanese government as an association of members (Shadan Hojin) for the promotion of karate.
