The University of South Alabama Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for two tenure-track assistant professor positions in mathematics starting August 15, 2013.
Applicants must have a doctorate in mathematics or a related field, but candidates near completion of degree will be considered. Applicants should have a strong commitment to both teaching and research. Preference will be given to applicants whose research interests complement those of existing faculty, but all areas of mathematics will be considered. Review of applications will begin on January 15, 2013, and continue until the positions are filled.
Applications should be submitted online at www.mathjobs.org, and should include a cover letter, vita, statements of teaching philosophy and research goals, three letters of recommendation, and copies of graduate transcripts. We cannot accept applications submitted directly to department faculty.
Copies of transcripts uploaded by candidate and recommendation letters uploaded by recommenders to www.Mathjobs.com are acceptable for review of applications. However, before any offer can be made, applicants will be asked to arrange for three original signed letters of recommendation and official graduate and undergraduate transcripts to be sent directly to the Mathematics Search Committee Chair.
