DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS AND STATISTICS

The University of South Alabama Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for a non tenure-track (12-month) Instructor/Assistant Professor position starting August 15, 2014.

The Instructor/Assistant Professor position is renewable each year subject to annual review and evaluation. The teaching load is 4, 4, and 2 courses during Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters respectively. Additionally, the responsibilities will involve coordinating assessment activities and other teaching related activities.

Applicants must have at least a masters degree, with a doctorate preferred, in mathematics or a related field. Applicants should have a strong commitment to teaching.  Applications should be submitted online at  www.mathjobs.org, and should include a cover letter, vita, a statement of teaching philosophy, three letters of recommendation, and copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts. Review of applications will begin on February 4, 2014, and continue until the position is filled. We cannot accept applications submitted directly to department faculty.
