Mahler Measure in Mobile

This interdisciplinary conference will look at Mahler measure from the perspectives of number theory, geometry, topology, dynamics and combinatorics. Talks will begin on Thursday afternoon and end Sunday around midday.

Registration & Support:
Registration is free. All interested participants should register by sending their name, address and affiliation to Susan Williams swilliam@jaguar1.usouthal.edu. Some support is available for participants, with first priority given to graduate students, early-career mathematicians and speakers. This conference is supported by NSF and the University of South Alabama.

Directions:
The Mathematics and Statistics Department is located in ILB 325. Directions  to the department and Campus Map. Map of Mobile.
By Air: You can arrive at the Mobile Regional Airport. The airport has ground transportation available.  Directions  to the department from airport. Nearby airports which may be cheaper are: By Road: From I-65 take exit 3- Airport Blvd. Drive about 2 1/2 to 3 miles and turn right onto University Blvd. Continue driving about 1 1/2 miles. Directions  to the department. Parking permits are not needed in the winter break

Accommodations:
We recommend Homewood Suites by Hilton. Their contact number is  251-634-8664. We have reserved a block of rooms for the conference. You can get the conference rates, $89 for 1-bedroom suite & $139 for 2-bedroom, 2-bath suite, by mentioning "USA Math Conference". The deadline for getting those rates is Dec 14.
