Column 1: This schedule is fairly firm, although minor changes are possible. If you click on a section number in the schedule, a new window will open with a (javascript) quiz covering that section. These quizzes are provided by your textbook publisher. Not all questions on the quizzes are relevant for this course, nor do the quizzes necessarily cover all that is relevant. Caveat emptor.
Column 3: The letter Q means there is a quiz scheduled for that day. All homework assigned since the previous quiz is potential material for the quiz. The bold-faced numbers in the homework assignments are the fundamental problems referred to on the syllabus.
Column 4: The ``Stewart Ch. #'' links will open a new window and take you to a webpage provided by your textbook publisher with links, organized by section, to other websites containing material pertinent to that chapter's material. These pages themselves offer links to the quizzes mentioned above and the visuals mentioned below. Direct links are provided here for your convenience.
The ``PT visuals'' links will open a new window and take you to a page containing graphical examples of some of the concepts covered in that chapter. The page itself contains still images. If you download the FREE Pacific Tech graphing calculator viewer, available for Windows and Mac, then clicking on the images will take you either to a movie from which the image comes, or to a graph with sliders enabling you to adjust certain parameters and see how the graph changes. (Note: You may have to save the files to your computer and then open them manually in the program.) This release is free and is entirely sufficient to enable you to view the given examples. If you have some cash to spare, the commercial version is available for $60 (with the student discount), works on the same operating systems as the viewer, and has full functionality.
