Abstract
In this talk, I will define a category in the category of groups, show why this is equivalent to a crossed module, and give an analogous construction for a category in the category of quandles. I will give some answers to the question "What do you mean by categorification?" and extend invitations to study some papers of Lauda and Khovanov.
