Prerequisite:   MA 237.

Text:   Linear Algebra: A Pure and Applied First Course (1st edition) by E. Goodaire.

Course description.   This course is a continuation of MA 237. Topics include
inner product spaces, spectral theorem for symmetric operators, complex vector
spaces, and Jordan canonical form. Additional topics may be included as time
permits. Mathematical exposition will be emphasized, and students will be expected
to understand and produce proofs.

Exams.   There will be two in-class exams and a cumulative two-hour final exam.

Homework.   A homework assignment will be given each Wednesday,
it will be due the following Wednesday.
