Folly chasing Death
Let the Good Times Roll! This photograph shows one of the icons of Mobile's Mardi Gras—Folly chasing Death around a broken column. This emblem was originally designed by Morton Toulmin in 1867. All three—Folly, Death, and the broken pillar—are symbols of the fallen Confederacy. This image dates to around 1930.
