| Research Interests: |
At USA, Dr Pannell's research work will be dominated by the projects within the new Cancer Research Institute, especially the identification of proteomic markers for cancer and their trace analysis within biological fluids and tissues. Undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students from other research groups are encouraged to make use of the facility for their own research projects and they are trained how to prepare their own samples (e.g. to digest proteins on gels) and to characterize their digests using the available Mascot ( http://www.matrixscience.com ) and Waters Proteinlynx Global Server 2.0 software packages. Training is held for the students and faculty both on a formal (part of College of Medicine courses) and informal basis.
