The USA Mitchell Cancer Institute focuses on research to accelerate the translation of new knowledge into novel therapies and diagnostic tools.

  • Cancer Immunotherapy - to find improved treatments, prevention, and cure for cancers through manipulation of the immune system.
  • Strategies for selection of gene-transduced stem cells - tested in vitro and in vivo. A newly developed protocol of culture and gene transduction of neural stem cells will be utilized for gene therapy of primary and metastatic brain tumors.
  • Identification of proteomic markers for cancer and their trace analysis within biological fluids and tissues.
  • Preclinical cancer pharmacology - a gene-therapy approach.
  • Understanding the regulation of various metastasis related genes by epigenetic modification.
  • Role of transcription regulatory proteins and complexes in metastasis.
