Owen Middleton’s Guitar Music To Be Featured in International Competition

USA faculty member Owen Middleton’s guitar music will be featured as part of the required repertoire for the Fourth International Guitar Festival, to be held in Grotniki, Poland this summer. Further information can be found on the organization’s web site. Congratulations, Owen!

Mr. Michael Sammons Named Assistant Professor of Percussion at USA

Mr. Michael Sammons, currently teaching studio percussion at Clemson University, has been named Assistant Professor of Percussion in our USA Music Department, hired to replace our retiring percussion professor, Dr. John Papastefan. We had an extraordinary field of applicants for the position and are delighted that Mike will be joining us this fall!

USA Trustees Approve NCAA-Sanctioned Football/Marching Band Program!

We are extremely happy to announce the beginning of a new era in the history of the USA Music Department! On Thursday, December 6, 2007, the USA Board of Trustees voted unanimously to approve a new NCAA football/marching band program at USA. We are currently conducting a national search for our first marching band director, who will begin organizing and assembling the program in the fall of 2008. The band’s inaugural performance will take place in the fall of 2009. Please click here for more information.
