Rendezvous a tableau for Basso, Solo Trumpet, and Wind Ensemble performed by Dr. Greg Gruner the University of South Alabama Wind Ensemble in April 2000; Americana Quartet at the University of Akron in May, 2000; Insect Songs on Poems by Paul Fleischman by Dr. Kent Skinner and the University of South Alabama Concert Choir in November, 2000; The New York premieres of Toccata for Piano performed by Dr. Jerry Alan Bush and Three Songs on Poems of Eugene Walter performed by Dr. Kathryn Barnes-Burroughs, soprano , both in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, January, 15, 2001; the first performance of Toccata No. 2 : Millennium Crossing on Dr. Bush’s 30th Anniversary Concert in March 25, 2001; First performance of guitar ensemble/voice/flute arrangements, Una Furtiva Lagrima, Dicitencello, Wake With The Dawn on The USA Guitar Ensemble concert March 25, 2001 (arrangements by Owen Middleton and Kathryn Scheldt.) An April premiere of Capture Your Dream, a song with flute obbligato and piano, performed by Dr. Kathryn Barnes-Burroughs, soprano, Andra Bohnet, flutist and Robert Holm, pianist. The Spring concert of the USA Guitar Ensemble April 17, 2001 at the Laidlaw Performing Arts Center,. featured  Quartet in D Major by G. P. Telemann; Sleepers Awake! by J. S. Bach arr. for guitar ensemble by O. Middleton; and arrangements of Jazz standards, Peel me A Grape and I Can’t Take You Nowhere for Jazz Singer and Guitar Ensemble by Patrick O’Brien and Owen Middleton. Seven Carols for Guitar Ensemble was given its first performance on the fall concert of the USA Guitar Ensemble, November 19. 2001

First review in Spring/Summer issue of GFA Soundboard Magazine by Garth Baxter of three pieces published by Edition Daminus: Victorian Song, Spinning Song and Harlequinade, Suite for Solo Guitar recently (5/01/02) published by Lathkill Music Publishers, U. K. now for sale through spanishguitarcenter.com. Also, Cordillera (Mountain Song) for flute and guitar released by Lathkill, Jan. 02. Dr. Jerry Bush performed Decoration Day, a descriptive work for piano at the regional convention of The College Music Society in February 2002. Also in 2002, John Weiss, Tim Justus and Robert Holm gave the first performance of Rendezvous (the original piano version), a tabloid for basso, trumpet and piano. The poet, Spencer B. Fellows was in attendance.

A review of the second publication of Suite for Solo Guitar appeared in the January,02 issue of CG magazine. Premiere by the Mobile Piano Ensemble of piano/four hands, two pianos arr. of Capture Your Dream. September 28, 2002 at the Mobile Municipal Theater.

Performance by the USA Guitar Ensemble, Owen Middleton, Director, November 25. 2002, at University of South Alabama. Program included Rhosymedre by R. Vaughn-Williams arranged for guitar ensemble by Owen Middleton.

Premiere of Millenniem Dances ( flute, viola, guitar ,cello )of on the Mobile Symphony Chamber Music Series Dances 2003 Season by the Heim Duo and Friends.

Dec. ‘02 release of Celestials, CD by Annette and Bret Heim, (Fl. and Gtr. Duo.) Available at Nomad Productions. The Celestials program includes Cordillera.

The Piano Music of Owen Middleton, a recital performed by Dr. Jerry Alan Bush on Dec. 4th, 2005.  The composer provided commentary on the music.  The concert included the premiere performance of Cradle Rock.

Premiere performance of a commissioned work, Honoring Song: Variations on an American Indian theme at the third doctoral recital of guitarist, Gregory Newton at UCLA on May 27, 2006.  Also on the same program was a performance of The New Day Dances, an earlier commission for flute, viola guitar and ‘cello. While at UCLA, Mr. Middleton gave a master class in music composition on May 25th.
