Uploading Audio in eCollege Using File Manager


In order to ensure that audio files "stream" over the Web, the clips need to be saved into Real Networks files .ra (Real Audio) and * .rm (Real Media). You can upload (or download) a streaming media file from File Manager
 

STEP 1 

To access the streaming media folder from the File Manager, click the Course Home button and then click the Author tab.

 

 

STEP 2 

Click on File Manager.

The Streaming Media folder appears in the tree on the left.

 

STEP 3 

Click the Streaming Media folder.

    1. Select an action drop-down list on the right as you did before you clicked the Streaming Media folder.
    2. Browse to the area where you saved your audio files and locate your file.
    3. Identify it as a Real Audio file.
    4. Type in a Description or Comments if necessary.

 

NOTE: To exit the Streaming Media folder and return to your regular course file structure, click the Back folder at the top of your Course Files tree.

 

STEP 4 

To add a link to the text editor, in author view, click on the Link icon.

STEP 5 

 

a.       When the “Add a Link" dialog box pops up, select Link to a File or Document and click on GO.

b.      Next, click on I Have Already Uploaded The File.

c.       Type in your link text.

d.      Click on “Streaming Media".

e.       Select the file you want to upload.

 STEP 6 

Click on Add Link. This returns you to the Text Editor mode. Be sure to click on Save Changes
