USA Online:

Steps for faculty to register and log on to a web enhanced or online course

Step 1: Ask your department chair if your college has sent a list of courses that you will be teaching to the Director of Online Learning.

Once the list of courses is received, a course shell will be created for you to begin designing your online class.

Step 2: Contact the online administer in your college to create your account.

Step 3: Go to USA Online ( http://www.usaonline.southalabama.edu ) and click on the “Login” hyperlink in the far left corner of your screen.
This will bring you to the login page. (see Figure 1)

In the  “Login” page (See figure 1) type in your User ID and password and click on the “Go to Class” button.

STEP 5:  Locate your course under the current course and year.
All the online or web enhanced courses that you are teaching will be listed in this section. Click on the “+” sign in the gray triangle for the semester you wish to view. Figure 2 shows an example of what this may look like.

Have fun with your online or web enhanced class!

Getting help setting up your web-enhanced course:
The eCollege online tutorial will show you how to set up and use your online course. You can get to the tutorial by clicking on “eCollege AU tutorial” instead of your course hyperlink when you first sign in. (See Figure 2). You should also consider attending USA Online Learning Lab’s weekly Faculty Fridays and one-day workshops.

Faculty members can also call the OLL Help Desk at 380-2642 Monday through Friday (9am-5pm).  The OLL does not provide a help desk for students.

Helping students sign in:
The instructor is responsible for helping the student sign in the course. Both the instructor and student access the system in the same way. If both are having difficulty, the faculty member (not the student) may contact the USA Online Learning Lab for help.
