Originally from Montgomery, Alabama, I am a senior Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) student at South Alabama, and I have minors in Sociology and Spanish. I research in the Trauma Reactions and Interpersonal Loss (TRAIL) Lab within the Department of Psychology, and I am getting ready to defend my Honors Thesis in the months to come. I will be graduating in December of 2016, so my next stop is graduate school, where I will be pursuing my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Practice. Eventually, I hope to pursue my PhD and balance a career in psychotherapy, research, and possibly higher education. In my spare time, I love to play guitar and sing.
The clinic has impacted my undergraduate experience in so many ways. In my short time here at USA, I have not only fallen in love with my university, but I have also fallen in love with the surrounding community. The clinic has given me the opportunity to fully immerse myself into the community by serving the homeless population of Mobile. Additionally, it has taught me the value of interdisciplinary healthcare teams while also providing me with clinical experience that will aid me as I prepare for my practicum and graduate school.
I've performed at Disney World and recorded in their studio twice! The second time, I was the voice of Ariel in a re-recording of "Part of Your World." It was one of the best experiences I've ever had!
