Come join Campus Recreation and Outdoor Adventures as we paddle the Sepulga River on Saturday, July 7. This is a 6.8mile four hour paddle along 5 – 10 foot high banks lined with thick brush and forest including hickory, dogwood, magnolia, and longleaf pine trees. Black-eyed Susans add color to the banks and reflect brilliantly off the muddy brown water. Blue herons and a wide variety of woodpeckers will be spotted. Besides long, peaceful stretches of float time, there are numerous shoals and some nice Class 1 rapids. Due to the length of the trip, this trip is not recommended for beginners.
We will leave the Recreation Center at 7 a.m. and drive 2 hours to Evergreen, Alabama. We will put in around 10 a.m., eat lunch on the river, and finish around 2 p.m. We will arrive back in Mobile around 5 p.m.
Cost: $25 for students, $27 for family members, $30 for faculty/staff/alums, $32 for family members, $35 for non-USA. Fee includes transportation, canoes, kayaks and accessories. Does not include food (we will provide coolers).
