ABCs of Kayaking
Come join Campus Recreation and Outdoor Adventures as we teach you the ABCs of Kayaking on Saturday, January 26.
Class will meet at the indoor USA swimming pool. We will teach you how to hold a paddle, how to enter and exit your “ride” and how to go, turn, and stop. Most importantly, we will have you practice a wet entry; we will dump you over in the deep end of the pool and teach you how to right and re-enter a kayak both with and without help. Develop the self-confidence to join us on future trips.
Class will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. If it fills and there is sufficient interest, we will hold a second class from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Cost: $5 for students and $7 for their family members; $10 for faculty/ staff/alums and $12 for their family members; $15 for all others.
Class size: limited to seven.
How to sign-up: Leave a check for the full amount payable to “U.S.A.” (sorry, no cash) along with your name and cell phone number at the Front Desk of the Student Recreation Center. We will call you to confirm your place in the class along with more information. We will accept registrants until day prior to trip. Fee is non-refundable within 2 days of class UNLESS we can replace you or class is canceled. If class is canceled, all fees will be refunded.
All participants will receive a $5 discount on any Outdoor Adventure trip taken Spring semester.
