CHEROKEE ROCK VILLAGE ROCK CLIMBING/TOP ROPE ANCHOR CLASS
Come join Campus Recreation and Outdoor Adventures as we rock climb at beautiful Cherokee Rock Village in Collinsville, AL on Saturday/Sunday, September 22-23.
This trip is for anyone wanting to get outdoors and experience climbing on real rock features. Those interested in learning anchor building skills will learn knot tying, site and gear selection, and top rope anchor assessment.
Cost: $55 for students, $60 for family member; $65 for faculty/staff/alum, $70 for family members, $75 for all others. Fee includes transportation, climbing gear, and instruction; it does not include food.
We will leave Campus Recreation at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday and drive five hours to Collinsville, AL. We will set up at primitive campsites and climb for the afternoon. We will climb on Sunday, leaving around 2:00 p.m. and returning to Mobile around 7:00 p.m.
How to sign-up: Leave a check for the full amount payable to “U.S.A.” (sorry, no cash) along with your name(s) and cell phone number(s) at the Front Desk of the Student Recreation Center. We will call you to confirm your place on the trip along with more information. We will accept registrants until day prior to trip. Fee is non-refundable within 2 days of trip UNLESS we can replace you or trip is canceled (rain or flooded river). Checks will not be deposited until completion of trip; if trip is canceled, all fees will be refunded.
