Too much partying goes on, and I won't get any school work done.

Contrary to popular belief, sororities and fraternities are very focused on education. To join Phi Mu, you must have a 2.5 GPA, and you must maintain a quality GPA to remain in good standing. We have instituted study hall hours for our members, so that we may pride ourselves in having a GPA above the "All Greek Women's Average". Phi Mu also offers scholarship opportunities that are available to all of our members.

I go to school and work, so I don't have time to be in a sorority.

About 90% of our girls work and go to school. Many of us have 2 jobs, or work full time. We understand busy schedules, and we make an effort to compromise with all of our girls. Our regular meetings are held on Sunday evenings, so that they do not interfere with school, church, and most work schedules.

Sororities are too expensive, and I can't afford it.

It is true that joining a sorority will be an added expense. However, many of us are providing our way through school, and we know how expensive college can be. Payment plans are available to all members so that we may make being Greek more affordable.

I don't want to "pay" for my friends.

This is the most common misconception about sororities. Phi Mu offers more than just friendship. We have a lifelong bond to many wonderful ladies, chances for scholarships, and career networking. The money that comes into our chapter funds our social events, house maintenance and other small things that may arise throughout the year such as entry fees for intramural sports, etc.
