University of South Alabama electrical engineering senior Dee Anne Turner of Satsuma recently named a scholar of the Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society for the 2005-06 academic year.
Turner is one of only 69 students selected nationwide for the honor and will receive an Alabama Power Scholarship through the organization. All of the scholars are members of Tau Beta Pi and will receive a cash award of $2,000 for his or her senior year of engineering study.
All Tau Beta Pi scholarships are awarded on the competitive criteria of high scholarship, campus leadership and service, and promise of future contributions to the engineering profession.
Tau Beta Pi was founded in 1885 to recognize students of distinguished scholarship and exemplary character, or alumni in the field of engineering, and to foster a spirit of liberal culture in engineering colleges.
