USA Engineering Professor to Receive Student Advisor Award

Dr. Lanier Cauley, associate professor of mechanical engineering at the University of South Alabama, will receive the 2005 Student Section Advisor Award from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers at a luncheon to be held in November at the ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition in Orlando, Fla.

The award consists of a $1,500 honorarium, silver metal, certificate, and travel supplement.

Founded in 1880, ASME is a 120,000-member professional organization focused on technical, educational and research issues of the engineering and technology community.

The Student Section Advisor Award was established in 1990 as the Faculty Advisor Award and is presented to an ASME member who is a current or former faculty advisor whose leadership service qualities have contributed to the program and operations of a student section of the society.
