The department of dramatic arts at the University of South Alabama presents “Hedda Gabler” by Henrik Ibsen at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10 in the Laidlaw Performing Arts Center.
The 19th century drama focuses on a general’s daughter who marries a man out of desperation but finds life with him dull and tedious. Ibsen’s play illustrates societal pressure, alienation of the individual and other stresses of modern life.
The production, which runs through Feb. 18, features guest director Jay Cotten, an adjunct faculty member at USA.
Ticket prices are $12 general admission, $10 for USA faculty and staff, and $8 for students with a valid USA ID.
