Civil Engineering junior Morgan Alise Ellis, age 21 of Mobile, daughter of Chuck Ellis and Wayne and Deborrah Sessions was selected as Miss USA 2007.

“Around the World” was the theme for this year’s event held on Saturday, Oct. 28 at the USA Mitchell Center Arena.

“The scholarship program will afford the winner and runner-ups with an opportunity to earn money to help pay for their educational expenses while attending USA, said Dr. J. David Stearns, associate vice president for enrollment services at the University. “This scholarship program also allows the young women to showcase their talent, evening gown, swimsuit and interview skills.”

This Miss USA Scholarship Program is a preliminary to the 2007 Miss Alabama and Miss America Pageants.
