Hyundai of Daphne, AIG Contribute $40,000 to USA Mitchell Cancer Institute


During a recent golf tournament, Hyundai of Daphne raised $20,000 for the USA Mitchell Cancer Institute. Through a matching program, American General Life and Accident Insurance Company, known as AIG, contributed $20,000 to the USAMCI, for a total donation of $40,000.

Shawn Esfahani, owner/president of Hyundai of Daphne, said the event allowed his employees to practice their teamwork for a worthy cause.

“It was our way of coming together as a team,” he said. “It brings us closer together and makes a difference.”

He said he had the utmost respect for cancer survivors.

“In our eyes, the real heroes are the ones who go through the challenge of it and live to tell about it.”

AIG sales professional Brian Weil said the USAMCI is important to him and his wife, a cancer survivor.

At the check presentation at Hyundai of Daphne’s showroom are: Travis Grantham, director of medical development; Dr. Rajeev Samant, assistant professor of basic translational sciences, USAMCI; Esfahani; Margaret Sullivan, deputy director for project management, USAMCI; Tony Laurence, AIG regional vice president; and, Weil.
