USA undergraduates will display a variety of their research and talents during the 11th Annual USA Undergraduate Symposium, which began Thursday afternoon in the Student Center Ballroom.
More than 60 undergraduate students are participating in the event, which showcases how USA’s undergraduate research program provides hands-on experience beyond the classroom. The event highlights the students in musical performances, scientific demonstrations and speeches representing nearly all the educational fields offered by the University.
Poster displays will be available for viewing through Oct. 26 in the Student Center Lobby.
“USA offers the only undergraduate research program in Alabama to include students from such a wide range of disciplines,” said Dr. Anne Boettcher, associate professor of biology and director of the undergraduate research program. “The undergraduate research program gives these students experience in critical thinking and problem solving that will help them as they continue to study at the graduate level.”
