USA Creative Writing Faculty
to Hold Writing Seminar
Three members of the University of South Alabama English faculty will teach a creative writing workshop for the public on Saturday, Nov. 21, in Mobile. The 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. seminar will be held at the West Mobile Regional Library, 5555 Grelot Rd. Cost will be $25 per person and may be paid at the door.

Dr. Sue Walker, who is poet laureate for the state of Alabama as well as director of the Stokes Distinguished Professor of Creative Writing at the University, will direct the workshop. She will be joined by Carolyn Haines, a nationally-recognized fiction author and assistant professor of English, and Bruce Alford, an accomplished non-fiction writer and an assistant professor of English. The three faculty members will teach a session focusing on their specialty.

“I think we have both a growing interest in creative writing and a richness of writers in both Mobile and Baldwin counties. We hope this seminar will provide a wonderful opportunity for local writers to get together, share what they are doing and learn from the faculty, who are doing this every day,” Walker said.

Complimentary coffee and doughnuts will be served.

To reserve a seat, call Karen Burns or Sonia Seals at (251) 460-6146.
