The University of South Alabama Mitchell College of Business Center for Real Estate Studies hosted its annual Coastal Economy Outlook seminar at The Battle House Hotel & Spa. Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. Chair Shelia Bair headlined the event, which drew more than 200 people from across the region.
Topics included the U.S. and Southeast economy, credit markets, coastal revenue projections, new capital investment, coastal business activity, employment trends and economic indicators.
The conference featured speeches from Bair; Nancy Wentzler, deputy comptroller for Global Banking and Financial Analysis in the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency; Jeffrey Fieldson, managing director for the Global Property Practice of Marsh National Property Practice of Nashville; Clark Starnes III, senior executive vice president and chief risk officer of BB&T Corp; and Dr. Don Epley, director of the USA Center for Real Estate Studies.
