The University of South Alabama's Career Services Office will host a seminar, "Co-op and Internships: Putting Your Education to Work," on Monday, Oct. 18, at 11 a.m.
The seminar is an opportunity for USA students to learn more about the University's Cooperative Education and Internship Program. The program matches sophomores and juniors with local employers in their fields of study, providing valuable career experience that can give students the competitive edge when seeking professional careers after graduation.
In addition to providing information on how students can balance work and study through the program, the seminar also covers program benefits and requirements. It explains the importance of employer relationship building, professionalism in the workforce, and the interview process, including how to dress and questions to expect.
There's also an overview of Career Services' online employment database, Jaguar Job Link. Students participating in the seminar may also activate a Jaguar Job Link account to get a start on the professional job search.
