The University of South Alabama College of Nursing’s Our Neighborhood Healthcare Clinic, a fast-track urgent care clinic that provides after-hours treatment, will celebrate its second year of service to the community with a public reception on Thursday, Jan. 26, at 1 p.m. inside their practice on the third floor of the USA Medical Center, Suite 300.
Managed and operated by certified nurse practitioners in collaboration with a USA physician, the clinic is open to the community, providing primary health care services for adults, including: acute illness management, ear infections, laboratory testing, minor lacerations, physical exams, sinus infections, sore throat, upper respiratory infections, sprains and strains, swimmer’s ear, and urinary tract infections.
In addition to care provided by certified nurse practitioners, Our Neighborhood Healthcare Clinic offers screenings, health education, illness prevention, and management of chronic illnesses. The clinic also works with community partners, 15 Place and Dumas Wesley, providing wellness and health promotion services.
The after-hours fast-track/urgent care clinic is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 2-7 p.m., and on Sundays from noon-5 p.m.
Our Neighborhood Healthcare Clinic is operated by USA’s College of Nursing and funded through a five-year grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration. It affords opportunities for faculty practice and clinical education for health professionals.
