The University of South Alabama campus community is invited to attend a brief ceremony on Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 9 a.m., in Veteran’s Park at the Student Center to remember and honor the lives lost 11 years ago on 9/11.
The commemoration will include remarks from a member of the U.S. Armed Forces, including Wayne Sirmon, former USA ROTC graduate and Infantry Officer, followed by the presentation of the colors by the USA Army ROTC Color Guard. The ceremony will conclude with a rendition of “Taps” performed by Jonathan Beckham, trumpet section leader of the Jaguar Marching Band.
This event is sponsored by Jaguar productions, the Student Government Association, Army and Air Force ROTC programs, as well as the Dean of Students Office.
