Women In Business Trade Fair Postponed

The University of South Alabama Small Business Development Center has postponed its Seventeenth Annual Women In Business Trade Fair, originally scheduled for October 13, due to the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. A new date will be announced later. Center Director Thomas P. Tucker said, "Our thoughts are with the victims of the storm. Many local business owners are going through a rough period right now, and we feel their best interest would be best served by allowing them to concentrate on recovering." The Center's staff remains available to counsel owners and potential owners on small business issues. Also, other workshops on the Center's schedule will not be affected. For the past 16 years, the Trade Fair has provided networking opportunities as well as educational and informative forums on current issues and concerns. "We look forward to hosting this event for many more years and plan to reschedule this one in the near future," Tucker said.
