Dean Vaughn Millner, Dr. Julio Turrens, Associate Dean of Allied Health, and Dr. Madhuri Mulekar, Chair, Mathematics and Statistics, are evaluating a 5 five year teen pregnancy prevention grant project awarded to the Alabama Department of Public Health and funded by CDC and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The program is being implemented by the Mobile County Health Department. The initiative is an opportunity to help stakeholders such as parents, business and community leaders, the faith community, and the school system support Mobile County youth in making healthier sexual choices. Mobile County is one of only nine sites funded for the project in the U.S.
