Classes for Clubs and Organizations

 

New! Would you like a class taught for your club or organization? We can provide a group fitness class or a discussion on basic nutrition, exercise, or wellness.  Available for students and employees.  Cost is $20. Please download the registration form and submit.

 

Upcoming Events

 

FREE! Body Fat and Blood Pressure Screenings. Thursday, May 29th and Wednesday, June 4th. 11:30 a.m.—1:30 p.m. Located in the Rec Center near the racquetball courts.

Group Fitness Instructor Training Course.  Wanna be a group fitness instructor at the Rec Center?  This non-credit course will meet Mondays & Wednesdays, 2:30-4:30 p.m., beginning May 28th—July 2nd.  FREE for USA students.  Call Sarah Rentz at 460-7268 to sign up.   **The Rec Center is hiring group fitness instructors who already hold a national certification and have teaching experience.  Must be a current USA student or staff member.  Proof of certification and an audition necessary.  Contact Sarah Rentz for more information.

Employee Fitness & Wellness Course.  Just for USA employees! A six-week course including weekly lectures and activity time. Meets on Tuesdays, June 17th—July 22nd at the Student Recreation Center. 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. OR 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.  Minimum of 4 per session, maximum of 10.  Cost: $20 per person, due by Friday June 13th.  Contact Sarah Rentz to register.

 

SouthFit Class Policies

 

  1. A minimum of 2 people must be present at the start time in order for the class to be held.  It is the instructor’s discretion whether or not to teach to only 1 person.
  2. Cycling: Seven (7) spots are available for Cycling classes.  Fourteen (14) spots are available for the Ride-n-Run classes.  Participants must line up outside of the door and will be given numbered tickets in the order they arrive.  The ticket must be turned in to the instructor at the class start time. 
  3. Yoga/ Pilates: Eighteen (18) people can fit into the studio for yoga & Pilates. Participants must line up outside of the door and will be given numbered tickets in the order they arrive.  The ticket must be turned in to the instructor at the class start time.
  4. Students going through SouthFit’s Instructor Training Program have first priority for a spot in cycling, yoga, and Pilates classes, as they must attend classes in order to gain practical knowledge.
