Professors, would you like to tie in physical fitness to your class objectives? We would like to collaborate with you. |
In Spring 2011, Dr. David Allison asked SouthFit staff to help prepare his GY 403 students for summer field camp, a month-long excursion involving hiking for several miles in extreme heat, cold, humidity, and altitude change. SouthFit staff met with GY 403 students during four lab periods in the Spring. We performed fitness assessments, reviewed proper nutrition, discussed the body’s response to environmental elements, and gave sample exercises. We are now in our third year preparing students for field camp. |
If you have a collaboration idea, please email sarahrentz@southalabama.edu. The fee for our collaboration is $45/hour. |

| Our staff is available for private lectures or fitness classes for your university group. Lectures include risk factors for cardiovascular disease, alcohol & nutrition, basic ChooseMyPlate guidelines, and how to set up an exercise plan. Fitness classes include all types of classes offered by SouthFit (click here for descriptions). |
Private lectures/classes can be held at the Student Recreation Center or your campus office. Please email sarahrentz@southalabama.edu to request a private lecture/class. The fee is $45/hour. |
