Dream Machine

University of South Alabama! Game On! The PepsiCo Dream Machine has arrived!

Dream Machine

It’s time to get your green on! USA is excited to participate in PepsiCo’s campus recycling program. This is a great opportunity to make a difference in the world around you.

If you haven’t spotted it yet, the PepsiCo Dream Machine kiosk is on campus at the Student Center. It is here for you to recycle your cans and plastic PET #1 beverage bottles.  Every time you do, USA will earn points in PepsiCo’s Campus Recycling Challenge, which pits colleges and universities against one another to see who can collect the most recyclable materials through the on-campus Dream Machine program. You can track progress by visiting the College & University recycling leaderboard at PepsiCoRecycling.com.

And the perks don’t stop there. According to PepsiCo, for every can and bottle you recycle in a Dream Machine, you can:

  • Earn points. You can redeem Dream Machine points at PepsiCoRecycling.com for discounts on local entertainment, dining and travel.
  • Help the planet. Recycling cans and bottles helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, save energy, reduce air and water pollution and conserve our planet’s natural resources so we can all enjoy it well into the future.
  • Support clean drinking water. By recycling your cans and bottles, you will support PepsiCo and The Nature Conservancy’s efforts to protect clean drinking water for millions of people in America’s iconic waterways. You can also donate your rewards points to The Nature Conservancy to further support the cause!
  • Support veterans.  Dream Machines collect recyclable beverage containers that help PepsiCo support post-9/11 U.S. veterans with disabilities through its partnership with the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV). Your part is simple: recycle and PepsiCo will donate to EBV.

Through its recycling programs, such as the Dream Machine right here on our campus, PepsiCo aims to increase the U.S. beverage container recycling rate to 50 percent by 2018. Since PepsiCo issued its goal in 2010, recycling rates have already increased by 8 percent (from 34 percent to 42 percent today).

USA is proud to join colleges and universities across the country to introduce this rewarding recycling program to campus. But we can’t succeed without your help—let’s show those other schools what the USA JAGUARS are made of!
