My Favorite:
Place on campus
The bell tower. While I was in school we did not have such a landmark, but I always thought we should! When the announcement from the Alumni Association came that we would have such a place I was overjoyed. For me it symbolizes how far we have come as a university and is a great gathering place for our student body.
USA Tradition
JagFest Organization Fair. When I was a freshman I recall walking around with signing my name on several lists for organizations I was interested in. The following year I stood on the other side of the table and showed people where to sign their name to get involved. I love the possibilities of that particular event. How was I to know that the first one of the organizations I signed my name to would, three years later, allow me to see Washington DC and go to Philadelphia?
Thing about USA
It’s all about creating your own experience! I’m firmly convinced anyone can be happy at USA. If you want the Greek experience, USA offers it. If you want to be surrounded by individuals who will help you succeed inside and outside of the classroom so you can get to Medical school, you’ll find it. If you are interested in performance or the theater guild, we’ve got it. It’s all about finding the experience you want. It may not be handed to you; you may have to step outside of your comfort zone to find that experience, but it’s here waiting for you to discover it.
Place to Eat in Mobile
I love the hole- in-the-wall restaurants. For a burger, Callaghan’s is my pick, but for wings (and fried pickles) it’s Butch Cassidy’s. Carpe Diem is great spot for a cup of coffee.
Music
I listen to a little bit of everything; my Pandora stations include the Avett Brothers, Hootie and the Blowfish, and the Chieftains.
Book
I am partial to books on tape. Being a history major I enjoy biographies the most, Witness to Hope being one of my favorites. |
