As a child, I could often be found sitting in a corner with a book in progress.  I loved to read, and that joy continues today.  Nothing would please me more than to pass that love of reading onto children.  Many children do not enjoy reading because they have difficulty, and I hope to help children improve in their reading.  I plan to implement a reading plan into my classroom that includes read-alouds, shared reading, and guided reading.  I also plan to assess my students to determine how I can best help each student improve in reading from his or her current level. 

I have spent four and a half months in a fifth grade classroom as an Intern from the University of South Alabama.  The lessons, samples of work, and pictures are all from my classroom at South Brookley Elementary.  I have enjoyed my experience and this is a small view of what I have done in teaching reading.
