Johnnie
Brinkley
Johnnie
Brinkley is a Senior at the University of South Alabama
and is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Elementary
Education. Johnnie is participating in the No Child Left
Behind program as a student intern at Woodcock Elementary
where she is working in the second grade classroom of Ms.
Deidre Jefferson. She believes that her experience in the
classroom thus far is much more valuable and meaningful
than the experience she might have gained by participating
in the traditional sequence courses. After graduation, Johnnie
plans to teach in the Mobile County Public School System
and begin working on her graduate studies. Her ultimate
goal is to become a principal of a Mobile or Baldwin County

Angela
Holland
Angela
Holland is a senior at the University of South Alabama.
She is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary
Education. She is also a NCLB student intern at Woodcock
Elementary School. She enjoys working with her fourth grade
class and hopes to learn a lot through the NCLB program.
Angela is married, but has no children. One interesting
fact about Angela is that she was born on the same day,
same year, and in the same city as her husband but she is
eight hours older.

Tricia
Kirk
Tricia
Kirk is a senior at the University of South Alabama and
is working on a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.
She is currently a student intern at Woodcock Elementary
with the No Child Left Behind Partnership. This new program
allows her to be in the classroom two extra semesters before
student teaching. Tricia is in a second grade classroom
with cooperating teacher Jennifer Vieira. After graduating
in fall 2003, Tricia plans to teach in the Mobile County
Public School System. Tricia believes that all children
have the ability to learn, and that it is the teacher’s
responsibility to provide an environment that facilitates

Lindsay
Smith
Lindsay
Smith is a senior at the University of South Alabama, where
she is working on a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.
She is currently participating in the No Child Left Behind
program. She is at Woodcock Elementary in a first grade
classroom with Mrs. Claudia Bishop as her mentor teacher.
After graduating in December of 2003, Lindsay plans to teach
in the Mobile County Public School System. She plans to
return to get her Master's degree in Elementary Education.
