Trade Associations
This guide lists sources which provide contact information and access to industry trade associations. Many trade associations have a Home Page on the Internet. Data, news, and reports can be located on their site.
The guide focuses on suggested strategies and best places to begin research efforts. For information & assistance in using any of the sources, please contact library staff:

ASAE's Information Central
The American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) provides information relevant to nonprofits and associations.
Business and Company Resource Center [AVL Access for community researchers]
Provides access to the well-known Encyclopedia of Associations which includes both national and international listings. Each association listing provides a short description of the association, address and phone number, and a Web site address if available.
To search the Encyclopedia of Associations :
- Click on the 'Advanced Search' graphic on the main page
- Use the pull-down menu to select 'Associations' from the Content Area at the top of the screen.
- Use the pull-down menu to select a search category (full-text, industry description, etc.) and enter a term in the search box.
- Next, click on the green 'search' button at the bottom of the screen.
Note: After researching for a specific company or industry, refer to the top right of the screen for an 'associations' tab which will provide links to associations.
Yahoo! Trade Associations
Provides an annotated listing of a number of trade association links. Users can browse or search by topic.
