The University Libraries have changed the login procedures for the Libraries' databases and for Course Reserve. Your password is your complete J Number -- including the J00.

The University Library provides remote access to most of its databases through a program called EZProxy. Only USA faculty, staff or currently-enrolled students are eligible to use our subscription databases. Alumni, Courtesy Card holders and SOUTHmed members are not entitled to access our online databases remotely because this violates our licenses with database vendors who do not allow us to sell access to their products. Our agreements allow access only for current students, faculty and staff.

NOTE: If you are an Alabama resident and need database access, go to your school if you are in K-12 public schools or to the public library for an Alabama Virtual Library card.

After choosing a resource from the Articles, Indexes, Databases page, the Electronic Reference Sources page or Our Journal List, you will see this login screen :

Remote Access Login Page To login, enter your login name (last name plus the first two letters of your first name) and either your J Number, the last 4 digits of your social security number or your library barcode (for students, this only works if you've previously checked out a book.) This is the ONLY login screen you should ever see for databases and electronic journals. If you see a different screen, check Common Problems with Access.
