CATEGORY I APPLICANTS - REGULAR GRADUATES
- must hold bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited
college or university, and complete the prerequisites for regular
graduate admission.
CATEGORY II APPLICANTS - ADVANCED UNDERGRADUATES
- must have completed 96 semester (144 quarter) hours of
prerequisite and elective work. |

MINIMUM
REQUIREMENTS
FOR ADMISSION
- Applicant
must declare one of the above categories on the application form
and meet all requirements, including the completion of prerequisites.
- Graduate
Record Examination (GRE)
is required and must
have been taken within the last five years. A
combined score of 800 on the verbal,
and
quantitative portions
of the exam
is recommended.
- A minimum 3.00
overall grade point
average (GPA)
is required.
- A minimum 3.00
prerequisite GPA is
required and these courses must be completed by the end of
the Fall Term of the application year.
- A grade of "C" or
higher is
required in each prerequisite course.
- Extra points are
given to an applicant who has completed any course(s) from a
specified list with a grade of "B" or higher.
- Extra points are
given to applicants who complete observation hours with a licensed
occupational therapist.
25 hours = 1 point
50 hours = 2 points
75 hours = 3 points
- A personal
interview with
the Department of Occupational Therapy faculty is required,
and if accepted, completion of a health form and physical to
include required immunizations.
How
Do I Apply to the Master of Science in Occupational Therapy Program?

Apply
by the January 15 deadline prior
to the Fall Semester of
entry.

Submit
official transcripts from
each college attended (USA students should not send transcripts)

Submit
official GRE scores
to the Office of Admissions by January 15 (institution
code: 1880)

Enclose
non-refundable processing fee of $75
A limited
number of applicants who meet all admission requirements will
be invited for personal interviews.

Additional
Information for Advanced Undergraduate Applicants
These
applicants must acknowledge an understanding of the following:
-
that
they will be officially classified as an undergraduate for
the first 2 semesters of the program, but will be taking graduate
courses of the program.

that
for the entire length of the program, they will be held to
the same standards and policies as students enrolled in the
Graduate School.

that
upon satisfactory completion (minimum GPA of 3.00) in all course
work during the first 2 semesters of the program, they will
be awarded a Bachelor of Science in Preprofessional
Health Science degree. The students will
then complete all necessary paperwork for reclassification
as graduate students and will continue through the remainder
of the program. Upon satisfactory completion of the entire
program, students will be awarded a Master of Science in Occupational
Therapy (MSOT) degree.

tuition will be assessed at the graduate level for the entire
7 semesters of the professional program.

that
in the first 2 semesters of the program, while classified as
undergraduate students, any financial aid is restricted to
the types and amounts for which undergraduate students are
eligible.

that
the academic program for students in both categories is identical
in its entirety.
