Remediation Ideas When a student is having difficulties on fieldwork, it is most helpful to provide feedback about their performance. Pinpointing what needs to change is the first step towards a plan for improving that deficit. You should provide feedback regularly and in writing when possible. Ask the student to help identify what they need to improve on. You may ask students to identify their perceptions of their strengths and weaknesses. Then, sit down with the student and compare your list with their own list. How close do they come? Does the student perceive their performance at a very different level than you do? Discuss this and provide concrete feedback to the student. You should consider using the weekly feedback form.
