Responsibilities of Faculty Senate Caucus Leaders
General Duties:
- Report to the Faculty Senate the relevant activities within their respective colleges
- Serve as a conduit between the Faculty Senate and the Deans of their respective colleges and their departmental chairs
- Conduct the elections for new faculty senate members in their colleges.
Election Duties
- Around the middle of March, the Caucus Leader should receive from the Faculty Senate Secretary the list of positions and terms to be filled.
- Send an announcement to all full-time faculty members of the respective college that elections will be taking place and request nominations.
- Compile a slate of candidates from the nominations and distribute ballots to all full-time faculty members.
- Accumulate all ballots and tally the votes.
- Notify the Faculty Senate Secretary the names and terms of the newly elected senators.
- Notify all candidates, individually, as well as the rest of the faculty members in the college, the results of the election.
