Box Office Archaeology, 6:00 pm, Crescent Theater, 208 Dauphin Street, Mobile, Ever wonder what was fact and what was fiction in Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark? Are bullwhips really part of an archaeologist's tool kit? In the movie Belloq says to Indiana, "You and I are very much alike. Archaeology is our religion, yet we have both fallen from the pure faith. Our methods have not differed as much as you pretend. I am but a shadowy reflection of you." Come and uncover the real methods that lie behind archaeology. Before screening Raiders of the Lost Ark, archaeologist Tara Potts will provide an overview of the archaeological discipline and its practices. This event is free, donations are welcome.   For more information contact Barbara Filion at (251) 460-6106, send email to bfilion@usouthal.edu, or visit http://www.southalabama.edu/archaeology/special_events.html.
