Our Class Act program is a unique service that helps children continue their education and personal growth during periods of illness. The program is especially helpful to children fighting chronic illnesses, but also helps patients who enter the hospital for just a few days.

The program is a cooperative effort between USA Children’s & Women’s Hospital and the Mobile County Public School System. Two Mobile County teachers staff this program and provide daily instruction for hospitalized kids in grades K-12. Instruction is offered in the Class Act classrooms and, for patients not able to leave their rooms, the teachers also visit individual patient rooms.
