pre-natally, during their hospital stay and beyond.
Topics include current breastfeeding research, prenatal

HIGH
RISK/CRITICAL CARE OBSTETRICS CORE CURRICULUM

| This six-day course
is designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of the
experienced intrapartum nurse involved in the care of
the high-risk obstetric patient. Course topics include
advance anatomy and physiology, hemodynamic monitoring,
cardiovascular and respiratory disorders, ABG interpretation,
pharmacology, and psychosocial, legal, and ethical issues.
Class participation includes competency validation and
skills station, required reading and a post test. Participation
is limited to Registered Nurses with at least two years
experience in Labor and Delivery or High-Risk Obstetrics. |

| This two-part course
is designed to provide departmental supervisors and
charge nurses with tools to become more effective leaders
in the workplace. Topics include critical thinking,
effective communication techniques, personality traits
and influences, problem-solving, time management, delegation,
and stress management. In the Part II class, participants
will apply previously learned concepts during groups
activities. USACWH employees attendance must be arranged
