The Care For Babies neonatal transport vehicle - a gift from the Alabama Forestry Association and the Loggers Council through their Log A Load For Kids program - is a mobile, mini-NICU, providing life support to fragile babies during emergency ambulance transport to USA Children’s & Women’s Hospital.

The Children’s & Women’s NICU Transport Team is a highly specialized, multi-disciplinary team including a nurse and a respiratory therapist under the supervision of a neonatologist.

Some 900 babies are admitted to the hospital’s Hollis J. Wiseman NICU every year. A Level III NICU, it offers the most advanced care for premature and critically ill newborns.
